Music Video Storyboard

The Backstory

I wrote a song about a real guy I saw a couple of times at my hometown bar's off-season Karaoke night. He would sit by himself, get up to do his one song (pretty well, I might add), then sit back down. He seemed to take it all very seriously, which made it sort of sad & sort of funny. 

When my band decided to do our second official music video, I explained that I had a mental storyboard for the entire video for "Karaoke Guy (Monday Night)." My band agreed to give it a shot, so I got it all down on paper...

The Storyboard

I knew exactly who I wanted to cast as the stars (hilarious friends/Duck drivers Johnny Kinsman & Jen Mauceri), and they agreed to join the fun. I made up a comprehensive shot list and we got our camera-savvy friend Ben Lipiecki to shoot & light the scenes while I told everyone where to stand. And then we got our clever editor friend Henry Beguiristain to make it all look fancy.
